Poppy was one of five puppies abandoned at the gate of the Pristina Dog Shelter. She was malnourished and taken from her mother’s care too early by irresponsible dog breeders.
She was extremely thin and weak, making us unsure if she or her siblings would survive the first few weeks. A shelter is not an ideal place for puppies as they require a quiet and quarantined environment to develop, and without their mother, the pups lacked the immunity support, care, and love needed to grow into strong dogs.
During this time we relied on funds for Poppy and her siblings to help provide food, shelter, deworming medication, vitamins, and vaccines.
Though the government is working to create the first shelters in the country, help from long standing volunteer organizations is often the first aid for the stray dog issue.

While at the shelter, many volunteers helped her get the care she needed. She quickly defied all odds and became a strong dog in just a few months! She was put up for adoption right away but couldn’t travel until six months had passed, as her paperwork and vaccines had to be completed.
Without the donations, we would not have been able to save this little pup’s life, as most resources are needed by puppies to due their vulnerable nature.

Poppy has since been adopted to a lovely family in Wales, where she is given all of the comfort she deserves.
We work with a network of Animal Rescuers, Fosters, and Volunteers to help cases like Poppy every day. If you would like to become a donor to help our cause, please get in touch with us or donate today!
